Alison Sweeney paints a beautiful portrait of the friendship between the women. I enjoyed each character including Rachel’s supportive best friend and celebrated their wins. I felt like I was there right there along with them and was moved by each of their losses. I appreciated that the story tackles significant issues including the rising numbers of older unemployed women facing homelessness in Australia. The story also brilliantly covers the sacrifices and challenges caregivers face when caring for older family members through Rachel and her mother’s relationship.
