  • Gold Rush

William continues his journey into the new frontier of the Australian gold fields. Left behind by the Lady Grace, he leaves his shipmates and strikes out on his own, hoping to find gold he heard is there for the taking.

Sometimes with luck on his side, he discovers that gold is not ever plentiful and diggers find more trouble than gold. Dangers abound for everyone and life can sometimes be cheap in the harsh and unforgiving Australian gold fields.

Gold is the magnet for William, but Australia proves a challenge. Heat, dust, flies, and mosquitoes test forbearance while snakes are an ever-present danger and an implacable Government is determined to exact its share from the gold.

William is caught up in the confrontation between the diggers and authority as patience is exhausted on both sides and a bloody fight is inevitable.

  • Our Children Our Legacy

Our Children, Our Legacy explores the duo of reproduction and nutrition.

The health we pass onto the next generation will determine whether our children and their children continue to become victims of chronic diseases, or whether we act now to change that legacy. The nutrition information mess, the agendas influencing our foods, and the important winds of change regarding nutritional successes in recent years especially for the disorders of metabolism are creating havoc.

This book explores the societal dilemma and offers clear advice on how to build a strong foundation for lifelong health, starting even before conception.

  • Poetry and Hot Chocolate

Poetry and Hot Chocolate is book two in a series of four books.

The windows frosted up with falling flakes
The snow grew denser and covered footsteps
As the fire started to soften its crackling
The smooth serene-sounding radio took its place
The living room felt cosy as I snuggled into my blanket
And forgot the troubles that resided in my past
    Instead enjoying the current moment
Looking at the frozen tears of God that eloquently descended
I took a whiff of the vanilla-scented candles
That propelled me to scribble down a few poems
While I sipped my bliss-infused hot chocolate

  • Stop Smoking Start Vaping – The Healthy Truth About Vaping

“This book is a must for any smoker who wants to know if vaping can help them quit (I wish I’d known about it earlier)”
Senator Hollie Hughes. Chair of the Australian Senate Select Committee on Tobacco Harm Reduction

If you are a smoker who can’t quit, this book could literally save your life. Vaping nicotine is the world’s most popular and most effective quitting aid. However, it is controversial and poorly understood.

Dr Mendelsohn outlines the scientific evidence in simple terms so you can make an informed decision about whether it could work for you.

Is it really safer than smoking? Does vaping cause ‘popcorn lung’? Does nicotine cause cancer? Is vaping cheaper than smoking?

The book guides you through the maze of getting started. What vaping device should you buy? How much nicotine do you need? How can Australians get a nicotine prescription? How do you actually vape and when should you stop?

Part three examines the controversies around vaping and why it is opposed by many health authorities. Is it really a serious threat to young people? Is it another ploy by the tobacco industry to get more people smoking? How should vaping be regulated to get the best public health outcomes?

There is still more to learn about vaping, but one thing is for certain. If you are a smoker who can’t quit, switching to vaping could be the best thing you will ever do for your health and your wallet.

“If you are a smoker, and especially a smoker who hasn’t tried vaping, read this book, and try it now”
Emeritus Professor John Britton. Former Chair, Tobacco Advisory Group, Royal College of Physicians (UK)

Dr Colin Mendelsohn is one of Australia’s leading experts on smoking cessation. He was the Founding Chairman of the Australian Tobacco Harm Reduction Association (ATHRA) and is a member of the committee that develops the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners’ national smoking cessation guidelines. He was a Conjoint Associate Professor in the School of Public Health and Community Medicine at the University of New South Wales, Sydney and is actively involved in research, teaching and writing about smoking and vaping.
