How to Submit and Manuscript.
Ready to Submit your manuscript for a Free manuscript appraisal? Read the guidelines below to ensure you’ve included all the right information, as not sending everything we require can delay us appraising your manuscript for publishing.
We are currently accepting unsolicited manuscript submissions in the following categories:
* Spiritual (not religion)
* Mystery/Murder Mystery
* Young Adult
* Children’s Books
Manuscripts are accepted via email and mail. If sending your manuscript via mail, please note we only accept manuscripts typed in MS Word. We do not accept handwritten manuscripts.
1. Include the following in ONE MS Word document:
- A synopsis of your book – a summary of your entire manuscript (should only be 1-2 pages long)
- The FULL manuscript – to enable us to appraise the whole story.
- Contents page with chapter titles, if any.
2. Your title page must contain your name, address, phone number and total word count. (please note we require the exact word count of your book, not an estimate)
3. Name and manuscript title is in the header of every page
4. Number the pages
5. Send your manuscript size A4, one-sided (A4 page size if emailing document) with double-line spacing and written in 12-point font
Please review our Publishing Packages before submitting your manuscript to us to ensure we are the right publishing house for you. We are an Independent publisher, not a self publisher, and offer a full publishing service including a publisher imprint that will allow your book to be accepted into physical book shops.
If sending your manuscript via mail, please ensure you keep the original manuscript and only send us a copy. If we accept your manuscript after reviewing your submission, we will contact you.

All books published in Australia have automatic copyright. Aurora House holds confidentiality in high regard therefore you may be assured your work is in safe hands. We will not allow unauthorised copies of your work to be published. You, the author, have the final say regarding your manuscript, we can only recommend what is best for your book to ensure it is published to the highest possible standard.
If submitting your manuscript via mail, include a Stamped Self-Addressed Envelope if you would like your manuscript returned to you. Please download the Manuscript Submission Form and send with your manuscript.

It is recommended an assessment be undertaken to assess the whole manuscript, which will give you a full briefing on the book, covering story flow, characterisation, pace, strengths and weaknesses, what type of edit will be required, and whether any re-writing may be necessary.
If you would like to organise a full assessment, including a full report, of your manuscript, you may go directly to Manuscript Assessment for details on assessment structure, and submit your manuscript directly for an assessment report. The requirements for the assessment are the same as for manuscript submission, except that you send the whole manuscript and not just a sample. There is a small fee for this service.
In most cases, professional editing is required to polish the manuscript and, providing you send us a varied sample, we can assess the level of editing that will be necessary during your review submission.
