Australian Publisher Accepting Unsolicited Manuscripts

If you’ve written a novel, autobiography, or children’s book, Aurora House is currently accepting unsolicited manuscripts, and we’d love to hear from you!

Now, some of you may be thinking you’d prefer to go with a ‘traditional’ publisher such as Penguin or Allen and Unwin, and it is still possible to submit unsolicited manuscripts to them on specified times of the week/month. The downside is their general ‘waiting period’ is six months, and most prefer you not to submit your manuscript to anyone else. Often you don’t get a message to say if your manuscript was rejected so you have to wait it out for the six months before you realise you weren’t successful. That’s six months you could have been sending your manuscript somewhere else for consideration.

At Aurora House, we accept unsolicited manuscripts every day of the week and don’t believe in lengthy ‘waiting periods’. We will read every submission we receive and respond in a timely fashion. Another point to consider is that most publishers specify if you do not follow their submission guidelines exactly, your manuscript will not be considered – that’s a high price to pay for not capitalising the correct words in the email subject line.

So, if you’re tired of being rejected by publishers or having your manuscript sit in the slush pile for months on end, then submit your manuscript to Aurora House, where we tailor the publishing process to each author. Our team of professional editors and proofreaders will give you their personal attention. We all love books; otherwise we wouldn’t be doing what we do.

Our published authors will be more than happy to connect with you – happy authors makes us happy too!
