Introducing the Aurora House Mentoring Package

After receiving a free Aurora Manuscript Appraisal or a full Manuscript Assessment, our new Mentoring Packages will provide you with the support and guidance you need to get your manuscript ready for publication.

Completing a manuscript is an incredible feat, but getting it ready to be published often requires a bit of extra help.That’s where our Mentoring Packages come in.

Maybe you’ve been working on your story for months, even years, and finally it feels close to publication, but there are still things that need a bit of fine tuning? Working with our Mentor one on one, you get to collaborate with a published author and editor who understands the writing and publishing process, who can guide you through the development of your manuscript at your own pace, and ensure you feel confident about the journey ahead for your book.

Whether you need help with character development, story structure, plot or something else, our Mentoring Service is designed to turn your very good manuscript into a great one.

Choose from three types of Mentoring Package:

1. Introductory Mentoring Package
Three 60-minute online sessions over four weeks with a focus on one aspect of your manuscript. This includes reviewing the first three chapters of your manuscript and offering one manuscript development task in between sessions.

2. Intermediate Mentoring Package
Six 60-minute online sessions over eight weeks, with a focus on three aspects of your manuscript. This includes developing the first 24k words of your manuscript and offering manuscript development tasks and feedback in between sessions.

3. Intensive Mentoring Package
Ten 60-minute online sessions over eight weeks, with a focus on all aspects of your manuscript. This includes developing 60K words of your manuscript and offering manuscript development tasks and feedback in between sessions.

Three Mentoring Packages for those who have had their manuscript assessed or appraised by Aurora and need help to further develop their manuscript before resubmitting for publication.

Introductory Mentoring Package

  • 3 sessions @ 60 minutes per session via Zoom/ Teams
  • Duration: 4 Weeks
  • Cost: $1150
  • Package Purpose: For those who have received an Aurora Manuscript Appraisal or Assessment, looking for support in developing a key part of their manuscript to be ready for resubmission.
  • Author requirement: Author must provide the completed manuscript assessment or appraisal, a manuscript summary, synopsis and the first three chapters prior to beginning sessions.
  • Content: Mentor and Author meet over three sessions to discuss the development of the Author’s manuscript. Mentor provides regular feedback, writing prompts and focussed development suggestions on one aspect of the manuscript; e.g. character, plot structure, point of view or narrative arc.

Intermediate Mentoring Package

  • 6 sessions @ 60 minutes per session via Zoom/ Teams
  • Duration: 6 – 8 Weeks
  • Cost: $2200
  • Package Purpose: For those who have received an Aurora Manuscript Appraisal or Assessment, looking for support in developing multiple aspects of their manuscript to be ready for resubmission.
  • Author requirements: Author must provide the completed manuscript assessment or appraisal, a manuscript summary, synopsis and the first three chapters prior to beginning sessions.
  • Content: Mentor and Author meet over six sessions to discuss the development of the Author’s manuscript. Mentor provides regular feedback, writing prompts and focussed development suggestions on three aspects of the manuscript; e.g. character, plot structure and narrative journey. Mentor will read up to 24K words over the 6 sessions.
    • Session 1: Introductions, discussion about writing process and areas for development.
    • Session 2: Discussion on progress. Send up to 8K words to Mentor for development notes review.
    • Session 3: Feedback and discussion on development notes. Author given new writing tasks for development work.
    • Session 4: Discussion on writing tasks and new developments. Send a further 8K words to Mentor for development notes review.
    • Session 5: Feedback and discussion on development notes. Talk through final areas to work through. Author sends final 8K words for development notes review.
    • Session 6: Final feedback on development and suggestions for next steps moving forward.

Intensive Mentoring Package

  • 10 sessions @ 60 minutes per session via Zoom/ Teams
  • Duration: 6 – 8 Weeks
  • Cost: $3600
  • Package Purpose: For those ready to fully develop their manuscript on a fixed schedule, getting regular writing check ins and preparing their manuscript for resubmission and publication.
  • Author requirements: Author must provide the completed manuscript assessment or appraisal, a manuscript summary, synopsis and the first three chapters prior to beginning sessions.
  • Content: Mentor and Author meet over ten sessions to discuss the development of the Author’s manuscript. Mentor provides regular feedback, writing prompts and focussed development suggestions on all aspects of the manuscript; including character, plot structure, narrative journey and point of view. Mentor will read up to 60K words over the ten sessions.
    • Session 1: Introductions, discussion about writing process and areas for development. Author sends up to 10K words for development notes review.
    • Session 2: Feedback and discussion on development notes. Author given writing tasks.
    • Session 3: Feedback and discussion on writing task outcomes and development. Author sends up to 10K words for development notes review.
    • Session 4: Feedback and discussion on development notes. Author given writing tasks.
    • Session 5: Feedback and discussion on writing task outcomes and development. Author sends up to 20K words for development notes review.
    • Session 6: Feedback and discussion on development notes. Author given writing tasks.
    • Session 7: Feedback and discussion on writing task outcomes and development. Author sends up to 10K words for development notes review.
    • Session 8: Feedback and discussion on development notes. Author given writing tasks.
    • Session 9: Feedback and discussion on writing task outcomes and development. Author sends up to 10K words for development notes review.
    • Session 10: Final feedback on development and suggestions for next steps moving forward.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are an Australian Resident 10% GST will be added all packages. If you live overseas, there is no added GST.
